Hospice Care

What is Hospice?

Hospice is an option for patients and their families, who are facing a terminal illness when curative treatment is no longer effective. The service is delivered to the place of patient’s, and/or their family’s choosing.

A multi-disciplinary team of experienced physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, bereavement counselors and volunteers work together to fulfill our mission and promises in providing the best possible service for our patient’s and their family’s needs; from physical, social, emotional and spiritual support.

There are 5 distinct services that a hospice provides:

  1. Hospice care focuses on comfort and quality of life for the patient and loved one, rather than cure.
  2. Hospice care is provided wherever the patient resides.
  3. Hospice care offers palliative and comfort care to patients by using the most current methods of pain and symptom management.
  4. Hospice care provides 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  5. Hospice care provides emotional support, spiritual support and psychosocial intervention to the patients and family.
